Updated: Sep 16, 2025

Want to Sponsor Your Parents or Grandparents to Canada?

Here's What You Need to Know ❤️

Bringing your parents or grandparents to Canada is one of the most heartwarming things you can do as a permanent resident or citizen.

And for many families, the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) is the dream PR pathway to reunite in Canada long-term.

Well guess what?

IRCC just announced it’s sending out 10,000 new invitations starting July 28, 2025!

If you submitted an interest to sponsor form in 2020, your moment might finally be here! Let’s break it all down.

📨 What’s New in the 2025 PGP Intake?

  • Invitations to Apply (ITAs) will be sent out from July 28, 2025, over a 2-week period.

  • Only those who submitted an interest to sponsor form in 2020 will be considered. IRCC is not reopening the form for new applicants this year.

  • Check your email inbox (and spam/junk folders too!)—IRCC will use the email you submitted in 2020.

  • Selected applicants can submit their application electronically via the Permanent Residence Portal or through their authorized representative.
